This versatile LED matrix Toplight Hi Red A-1088AH includes a MAX7219CNG display driver, and is super easy to interface to any microcontroller with SPI including Arduino. Various libraries available, but LEDcontrol is perhaps the easiest to use.

In general all you need to do is connect up the SPI port to your Arduino/Versalino board and control the LEDs with the Arduino code in the guide above and your next project will be off the ground in a flash.
